RICHMOND, Va. (May 15, 2009) - CRT/tanaka, an award-winning public relations and marketing firm known for creative solutions and workplace culture, was recently honored with three awards by two different organizations for marketing achievements.
The agency was honored by the Hampton Roads Chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAFHR) with a 2009 Silver ADDY Award for a television advertisement, which was part of a branding campaign the agency developed for Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyo. The ad featured a compelling story of a cancer survivor who was treated at the hospital. CRT/tanaka wrote and co-produced the advertising campaign with Scott Mackey, creative director of Mackey, Ink.
CRT/tanaka also was awarded a Silver Telly Award for an educational documentary about the vibrant Spanish wine region of Rioja. In partnership with the Culinary Institute of America, the agency created a first-of-its-kind documentary and companion Web site with downloadable podcasts. The project allows viewers to experience Rioja first-hand through interviews with its leading winemakers and chefs and “rising star” sommeliers from America touring the region, as well as vivid tours of vineyards, wineries and restaurants that make this Spain’s pre-eminent wine region.
Additionally, in cooperation with Moving Pictures, Ltd., CRT/tanaka received a Telly Award for the 2008 Holiday television campaign the agency produced for the Salvation Army, Tidewater Command, Norfolk, Va. The not-for-profit campaign included three 15-second television spots that aired regionally during the Salvation Army’s holiday fund drive.
The American Advertising Federation, a not-for-profit industry association, conducts the ADDY Awards through its 200 member advertising clubs and 15 districts. The ADDY awards receive more than 60,000 entries annually. The Telly Award is a peer-reviewed, nationally recognized award. The 29th Annual Telly Awards received more than 4,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents.
